Last month I did one of the coolest things I have ever done in my life which was take a hot air balloon ride over Sedona National Park in Arizona. There's not a lot I can say to sum up the experience because it's something you just have to experience.
We actually crashed into a tree which is a lot less dramatic than it sounds considering people forget that you're only going about 6 miles per hour the entire time.
I learned that balloon pilots in Arizona have jurisdiction to land anywhere. that means that wherever the balloon decides to land is where you're going to land. even if it's in the middle of the highway or on the roof of a house..
I wrote more about about the logistics of the ride and the whole process and my experience of hot air ballooning here.
